Relative to the cost of rebooking at zero notice beca u se you’ve missed you r flight, that sounds like a pretty cheap option.
Not exactly first world, either, apart from Ezon organising it. A bandoning a car taxi in gridlock and transferring to a “ scooter taxi” is standard practice in many third world cities, and acceptable as long as you tip the taxi driver enough. I’ ve do ne it a few times.

You made me curiou s so I had to look it up. They’re the Russia-China aligned countries from the Cold War days - third world is the non-aligned ones and first world is the US-Europe aligned.
I’d have guessed it was related to old world (Europe) and new world (Americas). TIL...
